The Bayou District Health Center provides a full range of healthcare services.

Who can use the health center?
The health center is available to anyone who resides in the Bayou District neighborhood (between Bayou St. John and the London Avenue canal).

What kind of medical services are at the clinic?
The clinic has primary care services for children and adults including:

  • Family Doctor visits
  • Sick visits (sore throat, ear ache, asthma, and other minor illnesses)
  • Immunizations and KIDMED
  • Annual Physical Exams

Bayou District Health Center staff can also make referrals for specialty healthcare, mental health counseling, dental services and smoking cessation and treatment.

What if I need prescription medicine?
Affordable medication programs are available. Bayou District Health Center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. Everyone who seeks treatment will receive treatment, regardless of the ability to pay at the time of care.

Some may qualify for discounts and/or free care based on income.
