Two FREE Training Programs at Columbia Parc
We're excited to announce that Kingsley House will offer two new training programs at Columbia Parc: Child Development Assistance (CDA) and Financial Literacy Class. The programs are sponsored by Columbia Parc, the Bayou District Foundation, Capital One, and Kingsley House‘s Community Supportive Services program.
Child Development Assistance (CDA) training is a 10-week program taking place October 13th - December 20th. Upon completion of classroom instruction, residents will be eligible to apply for positions with the Kingsley House Child Development Assistance program slated to open at Columbia Parc in January 2011.
The Financial Literacy program runs from November 3, 2010 until
May 24, 2011. Classes are every Wednesday evening from
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Orientation for Child Development Assistance (CDA) is October 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and orientation for Financial Literacy is October 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
To take advantage of these FREE programs, participants must be a former St. Bernard Public Housing resident, a current resident of Columbia Parc, or reside in the Columbia Parc community. To register, please contact Gilda Johnson or April Gaudet at 504-282-2424. |

Going to Gentilly Fest?
Taking place on October 9th and 10th and F-R-E-E to the public, Gentilly Fest celebrates all things "Gentilly," including continuous live music, food from a variety of local restaurants & caterers, and arts and crafts for sale. Enjoy activities for children including pony rides and a kids stage as well as variety of practical recovery information offered by local non-profit organizations.
Gentilly Fest supports the New Orleans Police, Fire, EMS, Children's Music camps and other New Orleans organizations that need our help. This year, Gentilly Fest will also donate funds to the sports programs of Pontchartrain Park & Milne playgrounds and the Louis Armstrong summer jazz camp for kids. LEARN MORE > |
